Company History

Jun. 1962 Established with 1 million yen as capital. Started as Shinetsu Denshi
Sangyo Co., Ltd. in Okaya City, Nagano Prefecture for development, manufacturing and sales of automatic control units.
Jun. 1964 Added 1 million yen to capital, changing the company name to HARMO Denki
Co., Ltd. and developing and selling automatic control units mainly for the textile industry.
Sep. 1969 Developed and sold 3 models of ATOM, a take-out robot for plastic molded parts, and 3 models of fall-check equipment.
Apr. 1972 Changed the company name to HARMO Co., Ltd.
Mar. 1977 Changed the location of the head office from Okaya to Adachi in Tokyo.
Dec. 1981 Built Ina Factory in Nagano for volume production of robots.
Jul. 1983 HARMO M.A.C. Co., Ltd, established as an independent body of the auxiliary molding equipment division.
Feb. 1986 HARMO T.E.C. (R&D) Co., Ltd., established.
Apr. 1987 Introduced computer systems in management operations.
Aug. 1988 Merged HARMO M.A.C. Co., Ltd. with the capital of 110 million yen.
Apr. 1990 HARMO Museum, established.
Mar. 1991 Built a company dormitory in Ina area, Nagano.
Mar. 1992 Built and moved into a new head office and factory in Kamiina-gun, Nagano.
Nov. 1994 Signed the contract with Nihon Denso Co., Ltd (currently DENSO Co., Ltd.) to jointly develop the Servo Robots.
Aug. 1995 Signed original equipment manufacturing contract with Nihon Denso Co., Ltd. (currently DENSO Co., Ltd.)
Jun. 1996 Transferred the registered location of head office from Adachi Ward in Tokyo to Minami-minowa in Kamiina-gun, Nagano.
Sep. 1996 Acquired ISO9001 (International Standards for quality management) certification.
Oct. 1997 Hideaki Hama, appointed as the president.
